Par-tay Update

I have to say the birthday party was a raging success.  (toot toot <--- my own horn)

[this picture is completely unrelated, i just didn't take any party pics. woops]
Despite the fact that when my in-laws arrived a little early to help set up and I was still outside with the dog, wearing leggings with a big hole in them, pretty mud covered from him jumping all over me.  He finally (FINALLY!) peed so I brought him to the back door to wipe his paws (which is basically a work out every time) and he saw my in-laws.   After a brief (!) wiping he tore into the house and ran around the room getting mud prints on the carpet and rubbing himself all over my mother-in-law.  Awesome.  I may have also said "SH*T" so loud bc of the mud prints all over the carpet.  Classy.

So, I ran upstairs in a panic to quickly run the flat iron over my hair and change into a more presentable outfit.  I made it back down to start setting food out before guests started arriving.  The whole night was great.  We had a ton of people in our tiny kitchen.  Our family and friends came out and we really had the best time.  Henry slept quietly in his crate, people kept saying "where's the dog?" and were shocked when he was in the corner either quietly looking around or sleeping.  Don't worry, we let him out a little later after a few people had left and he did really good.

We ended up having so much food too. Which as a frantic stressed hostess is a relief, since I'm always worried about running out.

Although I have no pictures to prove any of this. I'm the worst worst wife for not taking any pictures.  I didn't even take any instagram pics, that's how you know I was running around like a maniac.

We spent most of Sunday lying around watching episodes of Homeland (SO GOOD).  Which was the perfect way to recover from the party.  That, and McDonald's (woops!).

  1. LOL first I love those pictures. Second, I couldn't help but laugh with the story about the dog. That totally sounds like something that would happen to me...
