Simplifying Christmas
I just had to share this idea of a "simple Christmas" that I saw over on Ashlee's blog, (she got the idea to simplify Christmas here).
The concept is to keep gifts to just 4 items. Something you want, something you need, something to wear, and something to read. Isn't that the best? I totally LOVE it. We're trying to keep Christmas low key since we've been spending so much on the house. And when it comes down to it we are really fortunate and don't need a lot of gifts. Reducing our gifts and keeping them within specific categories will make each gift count even more because we'll be putting more thought into them and getting creative.
I'm definitely getting into the Christmas spirit. I really do love this time of year, even if I do protest Christmas music before December ;)

This is definitely a great idea, and something that I'm doing as well. My family is cutting back, and we are only buying gifts for my nephew and my parents.
ReplyDeleteAnd the only thing I asked for from my boyfriend is a new pair of boots. So that covers something I want, need, and can wear :)
This is a brilliant idea! I couldn't agree more that this is truly the way to celebrate the holidays :)
ReplyDeleteMy Christmas tree is up. It's fine. I love those stockings.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness i love this idea so much! xox
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what my husband and I do(4 gifts)for each other and the kiddies! We love it and it really does keep things simple and less stressful. It's a great idea for everyone!
ReplyDeleteLove this!! I'm all about simplifying lately. And seriously, the consumerism surrounding Christmas is outrageous and not something I want to be a part of!
ReplyDeleteI did this for my husband last year, and it actually helped me to be more creative that in years past! He loved it. Its just a hard concept to bring to extended family, who are set on spending more and getting more :( But we can start small.
